Mary Jo Bole, Columbus

I had the pleasure of visiting Mary Jo's Studio's the other day, and was a lucky duck to see a piece that she has been working on. With the goal of compleating this year, this piece is so detailed and amazing. Each tiny tile piece is hand cut into tiny tiny dew drops, curves, squares, and such that create an overall images akin to old photographs. The finished piece will be a low sitting bench. The tile is cut using several devises, the first is a motorized tool that cuts full size tiles into smaller pieces. Once the tile is cut down, the detail work of cutting it into the proper shape is done by hand.
See more on Mary Jo tomorrow.
