Mohamed Jalloh "PRO" Columbus

So I have been driving by Mohamed or "Pro" for weeks, always rushing about, every time I passed him I wanted to stop and take his picture, but thinking next time, next time. He carves at the Como Lawnmower shop on Indianola Ave. Finally, with Kids and dinner in the car, I drove by him again today, as I passed I thought, today is the day, and turned around to meet him. He used traditional tools to work on these solid wood carved pieces, see the finished alligator, and in progress Tiger. So glad I stopped!

Rosemarie Fiore, New York, New York

I got these dramatic work in progress photos from Rosemarie just this past weekend, and I am so glad to post them, as I am laying out and hanging the Ohio State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition this week, and Rosemarie was one of our Pro Jurors. There is really no way to briefly describe her work, as she creates drawings using fireworks as seen above, Scramblers, (yes I mean the amusement park ride) not to mention gun medallions, Waffle Iron Paintings, videos performances, and good old fashioned oil on canvas. She is a power house, and I am glad to know her, go exploring on her website, It is an adventure, and it free!

After seeing so much amazing work, it was nice to see the little outdoor area he lets the work dry, with a few pieces that are in process, look at that turtle! Photo: Melissa Vogley Woods
